I am a Registered Psychologist who has practiced since 1993. I have worked with adults, teenagers, children, couples and families in both community and organisational settings. My aim is to work collaboratively with people to help them indentify and achieve clear goals. I have a genuine interest in people and their wellbeing, and my style has been described as "warm and engaging".
I use a solution-focused approach, meaning I remain focussed on working towards my clients identified goals. This framework establishes the grounds for therapy to be thorough yet efficient, meaning my clients are able to achieve positive outcomes without needing to engage in long term therapy.
I weave Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) skills into my sessions. CBT helps you understand how your thoughts, feelings and behaviours are connected, and then looks at how these connections are maintaining your current difficulties. ACT helps teach you the skills to live a rich and meaningful life whilst coping with life's unavoidable hardships. Both CBT and ACT are both evidence based and extremely effective.
